UX Case Studies

Neuro

Mobile-Responsive MVP

For a variety of social and cultural reasons, many Somali Americans in the Twin Cities do not feel comfortable seeking in-person mental health support. In this project, my team and I tackled research and design to design a culturally-cognizant wellness management tool customized to meet the needs of the Twin Cities Somali community, and scalable to serve multiple different communities in the same way.

Criminal Justice Network

Web Application Extension

The Minnesota Adult Abuse Reporting Center (MAARC) receives and distributes reports of abuse or neglect against vulnerable adults, such as senior citizens or adults with cognitive or physical disabilities. Many police departments currently have inefficient and antiquated methods of interacting with MAARC reports. The Criminal Justice Network of Dakota County (CJN) wants to design a way to digitize this workflow, allowing supervising officers to view and take action on reports within their existing web application.

Sub Tub

Conceptual Design

Planning for a substitute teacher is incredibly time-consuming, requiring many hours of prep work on top of the existing responsibilities that teachers already pack into their 8+ hour work days. In this project, I designed a digital tool that will allow teachers to quickly and easily create low-lift sub plans using a variety of media, including videos, audio, photos, and slides in addition to resources from other parts of the web.

Strike Graph

Web Application Revision

Strike Graph is a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) product company that builds tools to help other businesses establish trust with their customers by achieving and maintaining cybersecurity compliance programs. In this project, I sought to integrate a more user-friendly and accessible onboarding process within the website itself to ensure that users are able to efficiently and confidently use Strike Graph to protect their company from liability.

Internship on Demand

Web Application Extension

Internship on Demand (IOD) exists to recreate the early talent experience for college students and employers. Through their pre-internship programs, IOD ensures that the right candidate finds the right career, company, and role. In the interest of streamlining its processes and scaling up the service it provides, Internship on Demand is seeking to build out the online hiring manager experience.

Gramercy Cleaners

Usability Evaluation

Gramercy Cleaners has provided laundry, dry cleaning, and tailoring services to the Gramercy Park neighborhood in New York City for over 30 years. Their website serves to provide new and returning customers with information regarding pricing and hours of operation, as well as their business and cleaning practices. This usability evaluation revealed areas of opportunity for the existing website.

JP4 Foundation

Multi-Touchpoint Design Strategy

The JP4 Foundation is focused on helping underserved youth from Minneapolis and St. Paul build lifelong healthy habits that will positively impact their lives with a holistic approach to their well-being through after-school programming and summer camps. This programming is expensive to run, and JP4 needs to develop a strategy to receive a greater financial investment from participating schools in order to scale up.

Bob’s Burgers Restaurant App

Conceptual Design

In this fun passion project, I was able to imagine a world in which a fictional restaurant came to life. To begin, I conducted user research and competitive analysis to determine what important features to include to meet potential customers’ needs and ensure consistency with existing mental models of similar apps. As I designed screen flows and iterations of wireframes, I aimed to marry these features with the unique branding of Bob’s Burgers. During Usability Testing, I identified several features to further develop in order to ensure a clear, efficient and enjoyable user experience.
